Bob Marley’s Call For Africa To Unite

Bob Marley and reggae fans will be pleased to know that there is a posthumous Bob Marley 10-track album set to be released in August 2023. In a recent statement released by Tuff Gong International, the project will be a fusion of familiar Bob Marley tracks infused with the new Afrobeats sound. Titled Africa Unite the album is being described as “a majestic, posthumous album celebrating the vibrant fusion of Reggae and Afrobeats.”

With featured artists who include Rema, Arya Starr, Afro B, Tiwa Savage, and Zimbabwe’s Nutty O and Winky D. As the album title suggests, the Kingston record label intends to bring Afrobeats to the fore with the intention of uniting Africa.

“Africa Unite is an extraordinary album that pays homage to the Reggae icon’s greatest hits, beautifully reimagined and infused with the infectious rhythms of Afrobeats,” a Tuff Gong release said.

“With Africa Unite, Bob Marley’s influence continues to resonate, bridging the gap between the past and present. The album not only showcases the global reach of Bob Marley’s music but also celebrates the rich tapestry of African rhythms and melodies. By intertwining reggae’s soulful vibrations with the infectious energy of Afrobeats, Africa Unite embodies the unity and spirit of collaboration, mirroring the late artist’s vision of a harmonious world,” Tuff Gong noted.
