Capleton Set To Drop 23rd Album

Reggae and Dancehall fans have something good to look forward to as Clifton George Bailey III, affectionately known as the Fireman, King Shango or Capleton is preparing to release fresh music. With a decorated discography of 22 albums, Capleton was seen with his crew recording a music video at the Half Way Tree transport center in Jamaica. The video was released on the artist’s official Instagram page with the caption “New Video Coming Soon”.

Fervent dancehall fans like myself are itching for the release and others have expressed their delight on the link.

The track is set to feature on his upcoming album which will have 30 collaborations according to the artist. Dubbed the ‘Collab King’, Capleton is giving back to the community and giving the youth a chance to feature with the legendary artist while also pushing their own brand.

“Some a dem mi na even memba dem name, but mi give dem strength…,” said Capleton. Other prominent headliners on the album include Beres Hammon, Sizzla Kalonji, Morgan Heritage, Chronixx, Kabaka Pyramid, and Bounty Killer.

If ever you needed an insight into what dancehall and reggae are all about, you just need to go through the slew of albums from Capleton. With 22 albums you cannot go wrong as his timeless music from the 80s will keep you engaged throughout. Now 56 years of age, Capleton still possesses the energy to perform evidenced in his performance in Montego Bay over the weekend. Capleton is the epitome of rasta artists in my opinion and will go down as one of the GOATs in not only Jamaica but reggae and dancehall.

The album name and release date is yet to be announced but following this last public video, my assumption is things are close to materializing. Keep your ears out for the first single which is set to be fire.
