EPL: Are Man United Going To Get Better?

With 4 wins in 5 in the Premier League, sitting in sixth position and 7 points adrift of table toppers Manchester City, after twelve games. How bad is Man United?

Eric Ten Hag believes despite United’s misfortunes due to injuries this season, Man United will up their performances and launch a significant title challenge as the season progresses. Their chances in Europe look bleak as they lie bottom of their group with two games to go. But United’s main focus is in the league as they are no real contenders for winning the Champions League.

Following their 1-0 win over Luton over the weekend, Ten Hag had this to say after the game.

“When we are back, we have three big away games [Everton, Galatasaray and Newcastle United] and we have to be ready for that. I think we are in a position that’s not too bad, even when we are not playing, since the start of the season, that well. Once we start playing well, and it will come, I think we’ll be in contention for the top four.”

It’s unfortunate for United fans that Ten Hag seems to have conceded winning the tile. However, United, to be fair, is in a rebuild and top 4 is the realistic goal. The in-form team on paper in the league, are United justified in their 6th position and will they make a surge up the table as the season progresses?

Man Utd 1-0 Luton | Extended Premier League Highlights

In addition to injuries. Marcus Rashford who was Man United’s talisman last season is currently off form. With just one goal this season, he is one of the club’s concerns. He has been off the pace in addition to other stalwarts last season including Casemiro and captain Bruno Fernandes. Their new goal keeper Andre Onana has taken some time to settle in but has had 2 clean sheets following United’s last Premiership games.

Given all the issues at United will the team be able to turn things around? Is Ten Hag the right man for the job? Time will tell. But. Given how Ten Hag managed to turn things around last season. Smart money should be on him to manage United to another top 4 finish to be fair.
