UCL: PSG Salvage 1-1 Draw Against Newcastle

French international Kylian Mbappe had to keep his cool and score an injury-time penalty to salvage a draw for his Paris St Germain team against a dogged Newcastle United. With Borrusia Dortmund beating AC Milan 3-1 in the other Champions League group fixture. The results leave Dortmund qualifying top of the group and Paris Saint Germain lying in second place with one round to go.

Milan vs. Borussia Dortmund - Game Highlights

Newcastle will feel hard done by the last-minute penalty. However, PSG had controlled the whole second half, squandering numerous goal-scoring chances. It seemed a matter of time for PSG to get the breakthrough. So, a draw might just be a fair result for both sides. Newcastle opened the scoring in the 24th minute when Gianluigi Donnaruma spilled Almiron’s shot, only for Alexander Isak to tap in. Fortunately for PSG, a controversial penalty allowed PSG relief as the game ended. And will no doubtably dominate the headlines as VAR gets scrutinized once again. Without Eddie Howe making a single substitution, Newcastle looked very light in the second half and didn’t offer much in attacking the hosts.

Newcastle and PSG will look to secure second place in the last round of fixtures as Dortmund host PSG and Newcastle host AC Milan at St James Park. Newcastle is still in it but punters will probably favour PSG to qualify as they hold their destiny in their own hands.
