RWC: France’s Romain Ntamack Ruled Out Of World Cup

France’s fly-half talisman Romain Ntamack has been ruled out of the World Cup with an ACL injury. Ntamack hobbled off the pitch in Saturday’s 30-27 World Cup warm-up match win over Scotland.

In what was a fascinating match where Scotland controlled much of the game with more meters gained and breakdown wins. Ntamack’s injury will cast a shadow over a record-breaking victory for Les Bleus, which was their 12th win in a row on French soil.

France’s chances to win the World Cup will be diminished a little as Ntamack is a key member of the team. Unfortunately, for France, Ntamack is not the only injury concern as prop Cyril Baille was revealed to have a calf problem that will rule him out for five to six weeks. The injury will force him to miss out on France’s RWC opener against the All Blacks, which is a crucial game for Les Bleus.

France play another warm-up test against Fiji in Nantes on Saturday and then meet Australia in Paris on August 27th.
